ACCREDITED RECITALIZATION COURSE FOR DOG SHEARERS/CLEARERS (Accreditation: Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports)
The course is suitable for those who want to open their own dog salon and work in this field. For dog breeders and exhibitors or just dog enthusiasts. The profession of a groomer is physically and mentally demanding, requires knowledge of many rules and the ability to predict dog behavior. It is also necessary to create an emotional relationship with this profession and consider it your hobby.
Retraining certificate
Retraining certificate for the profession of dog groomer, valid throughout the EU under the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
Accreditation by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Interested parties have the option of having the course paid for by the Labor Office. We will provide more information in case of serious interest.
Practical part
120 hours full of practical demonstrations, expert tips and, above all, clipping. You will learn how to properly prepare your dog for the clipping itself, because preparation is key to a good result. You will gain detailed knowledge about trimming every part of the dog's body, including the correct angulation. On the second day of the course, you will be able to pick up the scissors and start working!
You will learn how to cut the most common breeds that often visit dog salons, such as Yorkshire and Biewer Terriers, Maltese, Havanese and Bolognese, Shih-Tzu, Poodle, Pomeranian, Bichon and crossbreeds of smaller breeds.
The practical part also includes hair trimming for breeds such as Jack Russell Terrier, Griffon, Westie and other suitable models.
As part of the course, you will also learn how to work with large breeds, such as Retrievers or Border Collies, as well as how to groom cats.
The dog grooming course includes 120 hours of practical training, culminating in a professional exam.
Theoretical part
The content of the theoretical training includes the anatomy and physiology of the dog, the basics of its education, classic and special coat treatments, trimming, dental hygiene and dog nutrition. 60 hours of theoretical training.
Individual approach
The course lasts 8 to 16 weeks, including individual support after completion.
Final exam
The course will end with a professional exam, which takes place under the supervision of an authorized person.
Basic information
The course takes place at the Tlapka dog barber shop, usually on weekdays. Alternatively, by agreement, on weekends. The course is adapted to the salon's operations, starting between 8:00 - 9:00 and ending between 17:00 - 19:00, according to our clients' orders. The course schedule cannot be fixed, everything is governed by current needs and personal agreement.
Course scope
The course includes 60 hours of theory and 120 hours of practice and lasts 8 to 12 weeks maximum. The start date of the course is set individually. Participants must meet the professional competence requirements and the specified number of hours during the course in order to be admitted to the final exams.
Course progress
Participants only need comfortable work clothes, writing utensils and suitable shoes. All other equipment, such as scissors, clippers, combs and brushes, will be rented at our premises. The training takes place in small groups (max. 3 people) to ensure individual approach, including lunch breaks. The number of participants can be adjusted as needed, but not increased.

If you need to split the payment into 2-3 parts, we will be happy to accommodate you. Just write us an email and we will arrange individual financing. You can pay by bank transfer or in cash. The order must be paid within 5 days of confirmation, otherwise your place will be offered to other interested parties. In case of illness or other serious reasons, the course date can be changed, but no later than 14 days before its start.
