The Arpalit electronic flea and tick repellent is designed for dogs and cats, regardless of size or age. It is also suitable for puppies and kittens, older or weakened animals with increased susceptibility to disease, lactating females, and pets living primarily indoors.
The device is equipped with a microchip that emits ultrasonic signals at a frequency of 40 kHz. These impulses are inaudible to humans and animals but are disruptive to fleas and ticks. Short ultrasonic pulses repel parasites within a radius of approximately 3 meters, thus helping to reduce the risk of attachment. The repellent can be easily attached to a collar or leash.
It is advisable to remove the device from the collar before bathing. Normal humidity, dew, wet grass, or light rain will not affect its functionality.
If an animal is heavily infested with parasites, it is recommended to first use a classic anti-parasitic product, such as an anti-parasitic shampoo. The electronic repellent then helps to stabilize the situation – a significant reduction in the occurrence of parasites is usually noticeable after approximately 7 days of use. After about 35 days of regular wear, the occurrence of parasites on the animal's body is usually significantly minimized.
The device can also be used as protection against mosquitoes and other biting insects in horses and other domestic animals. It is also practical for people – it can be attached to a backpack or bag when spending time in nature, fishing, or camping.
The electronic repellent helps to reduce the incidence of ectoparasites, but like other repellent products, it does not guarantee absolute, hundred percent protection against infestation.
