Lilly the Pomeranian's transformation

How to have a well-groomed and show-ready Pomeranian?

First, Lilly needed to have her paws and claws trimmed. We always trim her claws before bathing with medium-sized pliers , which we do not allow. If there is an accident with nail clipping, we recommend Blood stop powder to quickly stop the bleeding.

This was followed by a triple bath in lukewarm water. Lilly's coat was quite dirty and matted, so first we used 2x ISB cleansing shampoo and then the caring shampoo for Pomeranians with caviar, which hydrates and regenerates dry coat. It smells wonderful and is tailor-made for pomeranians.

Next came the hydrating mask for Pomeranians . Without it, their coat will never shine with health as it could. If your pooch doesn't have enough fur and is prone to or struggling with alopecia, add the BSD mask , which activates hair growth. (Lilly has little hair on her bottom because she used to have it cut short and now it grows back more slowly).

Then we started drying. First with a towel, then with a hairdryer. But before that, you always need to apply a leave-in conditioner so that the coat doesn't break and can be combed nicely. A little is enough, our products are full of quality ingredients and if you overdo it, the coat will become greasy. We chose a soft, wire brush for combing and helped ourselves by blowing the hair against the direction of growth (it creates a fluffy effect) to get rid of the matted undercoat. A ball brush is also great, and for the final check "without dreadlocks" we use a metal comb . Only then can we start cutting and adjusting the shape. As the icing on the cake, there is a volume spray and a volume conditioner. Finally, perfume so that Lilly smells good to her owner for a long time (the scent lasts up to 8 days).

What should you never do to keep your pooch's coat beautiful, healthy, voluminous and shiny?

NEVER CUT THE HAIR SHORT, (BOO TO THE TEDDY BEAR, THE HAIR WOULD NEVER GROW AGAIN)

❌ Never bathe your dog too often - ideally once every 3-4 weeks, otherwise the natural oils of the coat will be removed.
❌ Do not use heavy oils or silicones - the coat will stick together, lose volume and become greasy.
❌ Do not brush dry hair – always use a detangling spray to prevent hair breakage.
❌ Don't forget to dry - wet fur causes matting and can lead to dermatological problems.
❌ Do not use unsuitable tools - for example, plastic brushes or furminators can damage the fur.

❌ Do not cut the tail, fluff it and spread it out.

How to care for the fur so that it doesn't tangle?

βœ… Regular combing – thoroughly comb the entire coat at least 3 times a week.
βœ… Using a light conditioner or detangling spray - prevents frizz.
βœ… Balanced diet - quality food rich in omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids supports coat health.
βœ… Hydrate the coat – using moisturizing products that prevent breakage.
βœ… Regular trimming of the tips of excess undercoat - helps keep the coat light and airy.
